Indexing practice and the business of indexing • Terminology and vocabularies • Indexing standards • Technical developments and indexing software • Client relations • Developments in the publishing world
To coincide with the triennial meeting of ICRIS (International Committee of Representatives of Indexing Societies), an international conference will be held in the heart of Europe, enabling participants to explore one of the most famous and cosmopolitan cities in the world.
Organised jointly by the Netherlands and German indexing networks (NIN and DNI) and the Society of Indexers, with the support of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Information und Wissen (DGI), the conference is likely to be a hybrid event – online and on-site – in the expectation of a return to quasi-normal international travel.
With keynote speakers from Germany (Professor Urs Stäheli), The Netherlands (Professor Kiene Brillenburg-Wurth) and the UK (Judith Flanders), and a range of shorter talks, seminars and practical sessions, this will be a truly international conference, giving indexers the opportunity to widen their horizons and hone their skills, while also networking with colleagues old and new.
The programme is expected to include the following topics:
- Indexing practice and the business of indexing
- Terminology and vocabularies
- Indexing standards
- Technical developments and indexing software
- Client relations
- Developments in the publishing world
If you would like to give a short presentation, or run a seminar or workshop, contact the conference organisers with your proposal (in English or German, including a short biography, and no longer than 500 words): email@example.com . (This address should also be used for any queries.)
